Free-to-air channel confirmed for 2024 AFO Rounds

The Seven Network has been confirmed today as the free-to-air broadcaster for the Shannons SpeedSeries in 2024, in which Australian Formula Open (AFO) will form part of the lineup at three such events.

With racing broadcast live and free on 7plus across Saturdays and Sundays, select events will also be broadcast on 7mate, including the season opener at Sandown Raceway; the opening round of the 2024 AFO season.

Motorsport Australia CEO Sunil Vohra announced today’s deal with Seven.

“We know how important it is for motorsport fans across the country to be able to access their content live and free, but also on demand, and the 7plus platform in particular will be a huge boost for the refreshed Shannons SpeedSeries, alongside the rally and off road content that is already at home with Seven,” said Vohra.

“Next year promises to deliver a huge year of motorsport across all our platforms and we can’t wait for Sandown to begin our season in 2024, with live and free coverage of the new-look Shannons SpeedSeries.”

More information about Seven’s talent line up and production partners will be announced in the lead-up to the 2024 season.

AFO recently announced a seven-round calendar for 2024 that includes a mixture of Shannons SpeedSeries events, as well as state championship and national marquee events from February to November.

With the three three Shannons SpeedSeries rounds being broadcast on Seven, the additional four rounds will include online streaming so that fans won’t miss a minute of racing action next season.

Starting in February, AFO will open the 2024 season at Sandown Raceway, with two additional Shannons SpeedSeries appearances being held in July and October. Also included on the calendar are two state championship events at Winton Raceway and Sydney Motorsport Park, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia round at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park in June, before again headlining the 2024 Island Magic in November.
